Το μελάνωμα είναι ο κακοηθέστερος καρκίνος του δέρματος, προερχόμενος από τα μελανινοκύτταρα. Μπορεί να προκύψει ως κακοήθη εξαλλαγή σε προϋπάρχοντα σπίλο (ακανόνιστο σχήμα, ανώμαλα όρια, ανομοιόμορφο χρώμα, αύξηση μεγέθους>6mm) ή ως νέα βλάβη στο δέρμα.

Although melanoma is less common compared to other types of skin cancer, it is particularly dangerous due to its ability to spread rapidly and metastasize. Early diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment, as the chances of complete cure are exceptionally high in the early stages of the disease.
